Williams, Alfred Brockenbrough: Author and editor. Now editor-in-chief of NEWS LEADER, Richmond. Born Jan. 10, 1856, in Hanover County, Va., son of Robert Alfred and Elizabeth M. (Colston) Williams.
Educated in private schools. Newspaper man since 1876, and in that year accompanied Gen. Wade Hampton to his campaign through S.C. Wrote up convict camp inequities in 1879. Editor of Greenville (S.C.) News, 1880-96; connected with New York Advertiser and New York Times, 1896-1900; editor RICHMOND NEWS. Pres. Va. State Soc. S.R., 1905. Sound Money Democrat.
Married Mamie Young Bryce in 1882. Address: 320 E. Grace St., Richmond, Va
