Abraham, a farmer by trade, was the son of J. M. Baker and Bettie Elizabeth Gumby, both born in Alabama. According to the death certificate he succumbed to the effects of Pellagra. Attending physican was Dr. Ella Ware, the well known Wilson county physician. The death certificate lists year of birth as 1868 while the grave stone reads 1869.
