Tulia, Texas—Rhoda Elizabeth Whitworth, 72, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Rhoda was born August 1, 1935 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Cub and Mae Woodall Maynard. She married Paul Whitworth on January 8, 1953 in Clarksville, Texas. She has been in Tulia for 44 years. She did housekeeping for 25 years and she attended Full Gospel Mission Church in Tulia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son; Little Paul Whitworth, her brothers and sisters; Buddy, Johnny, Vernon, Clara, Katie, Susie, Maybelle and Stella.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law; Reba and Doug Thomas of Amarillo, Texas, Linda Whitworth of Tulia, Janice and Larry Gipson of Granville, Tennessee, a Special Adopted Daughter; Linda Sprague of Plainview, Texas, grandchildren; Seth Gipson and wife Ashley of Portland, Tennessee, Amanda Bowman and husband Tyrell of Gainesboro, Tennessee, Cody Gipson of Granville, Tennessee, Shelby Thomas of Amarillo and Chelsea Thomas of Amarillo, adopted grandchildren; Billy Rains of Amarillo, Eric Rains of Amarillo and Greta Ballard of Plainview, adopted great grandchildren; Brandon, Bryce and Brennon Ballard of Plainview, her brothers; William Maynard of Oregon, Cub Maynard, Jr. of Detroit, Texas and Travis Maynard of Bogota, Texas, her sisters; Frances Martin of California, Martha Lucas of Memphis, Texas, Faye McMillen of Amarillo, Jimmie Boss of Amarillo and Special Grand-dogs; Rebel and Rachel.
