Mrs. Cranmer was born April 7, 1927 in Madison County, IL the daughter of Leo and Amy Nelson Colyar. She married Roy Cranmer in Roxana, IL on July 6, 1946. He preceded her in death April 2, 2000.
Mrs. Cranmer is survived by her 4 Children: Cathy (Randy) Dalby of Mattoon, IL; Mike (Kathy) Cranmer of Littleton, CO; Nora (David) Zaring of Danvers, IL; and David Cranmer and Denise Jones of Rosemount, MN; 1 Sister: June Holly of Apple Valley, CA; 11 Grandchildren: Aaron (Lorie) Dalby; Justin (Jessica) Dalby; Amy Cranmer; Erin Cranmer; Kaycee Cozart; Michael Zaring; Paul Zaring; Ben Cranmer; Kyle Wesen; Maura Wesen; and Caleb Wesen; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Caleb Dalby; Logan Dalby and Aiden Dalby; Godchild: Gabriela Chavez; Loving Friend: Jim Storm; 2 Special Friends: Cindy Cooper and Marek Spielmann and numerous other friends and family.
Ruth was a faithful Christian who read her Bible and prayed for all her family, neighbors and friends daily. She had a gift of encouragement as she wrote monthly emails, letters and poems to friends, family and shut-ins. Her favorite scripture was John 3:16, and she modeled God's love to all she came in contact with. She was totally at peace after her diagnosis of ALS, lived her life with dignity and grace, and died with that same peace.
