Sophia immigrated to America from Sweden in 1884. She worked as a housekeeper in New York City, NY where she met and married Peter April 8, 1888 and they moved shortly after to Duluth, MN. They had seven children: Ellen, John, Ernest, Esther, Ruth, Arnold and Lillian. They attended the Swedish Mission Church later called First Covenant Church in Duluth, MN.
