LINCOLN - Joy C. Stone, 77, of Lincoln died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at her residence.

She was born June 3, 1931, in Kenney, the daughter of Jessie Beeler Tripplett and Marvin Burton. She married Edwin Stone on June 19, 1949, in Middletown; he preceded her in death on June 26, 1979.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Tripplett and two brothers, George and Jim Tripplett.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan (Glenn) Barker of Petersburg; five grandchildren, Ivy Barker and Adam (Tara) Barker, both of Petersburg and Shawn Stone, Michelle Stone and Ashley (Shaun) Moore, all of Wisconsin; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ivan (JoAnn) Tripplett of Lincoln and John (Alberta) Tripplett of Middletown; and two sisters, Rose (Ben) Szabrowicz of Jasper, Ark., and Marilyn (Jim) Bell of Mason City.

Joy was a licensed water plant operator and worked at the Illinois Department of Revenue. She was a member of Sweetwater Christian Church, Middletown Bunco Club for over 50 years and American Legion Auxiliary 0672.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the funeral home, with Roger James officiating. Burial will be at Irish Grove Cemetery in Middletown.

Memorials may be made to Sweetwater Christian Church.
