Celia Ella Spainhour Newsome was my great-grandmother. She has a very interesting family history.

She was married to Henry Wiley Newsome and had one child, Wiley B. Newsome.

When her husband died, she married his older brother George Wilson Newsome who was a widower with four children.

She and George Wilson Newsome had the following children:

Hazel Ethel Irene (Newsome) Woods
George Hobart Mckinley Newsome
Martha Pearl Beatrice Newsome (1898)
Georgia Alma Elberta (Newsome) Azmon (1899-1995)
Walter Durward Roosevelt Newsome (?-1961)
Fred M. Newsome (1912-1984)
Ruby Ella Clair (Newsome) Woods
Mildred Edna Earle Newsome
Paul Seaborn Newsome
Fred Macon Michael Newsome
Frank Newsome

My pretty great-grandmother had red hair, which has been passed along through the generations to me and my children. Above is the only clear photograph I have of her, taken May 23, 1900 with my grandmother, Georgia "Alma" Elberta Newsome, in her arms.
