George W. Newsome known affectionately as "Papa" by his children, gave many of his children three names. His daughters also enjoyed a little rhyme which he made up and referred to throughout their lives.
My great aunt Pearl (my grandmother's sister) was know to Papa as:
"Martha Pearl Beatrice,
Papa's New York Actress"
(Remember that down south, we pronounce "Beatrice" as "Bee-AT-tress and it rhymes a little better)
