JUDGE DIES IN
HOSPITAL HERE.


Galena, Kan., April 17. — Bryce A.
Sater
, 52 years old, Galena police
judge, died yesterday afternoon
in St. John's hospital in Joplin,
where he had been a patient since
April 6. Death resulted from a stroke
of paralysis, which he suffered
April 5. He had been in failing
health since he suffered his
first stroke of paralysis six years
ago.

Mr. Sater, who served as police
judge here the last two years, was
re-elected to office at the city
election April 6.

Grocer 30 Years.

Mr. Sater had been in the grocery
business here over a period of 30
years. He had operated his business
at its present location, Fourth
and Main streets, the last three
years. A number of years ago he
operated a garage here and also
was an insurance agent for a time.
He was president of the Galena
Voluntary Firemen's Association
and was a member of the Elks and
Odd Fellows lodges and the Methodist
church.

His wife, Mrs. Pearl Sater, died
about a year ago.

Surviving are two daughters,
Mrs. Ardath Link of Galena and
Mrs. Howard Haynes of Tacoma
Park, Md.; his mother, Mrs. Leila
Sater of Galena; six sisters, Mrs.
Harry Slevins of Colorado, Mrs.
Spence Pierce of New Orleans, La.,
Mrs. Ed Murray of Webb City, Miss
Anna Sater of Washington, D. C.
and Misses Goldie and Gladys Sater
of Galena, and two brothers,
Ben Sater of Arkansas and James
Sater of Galena.

Funeral arrangements will be in
charge of the Allison funeral home.
