Norma Loretta Cogbill, 74, of Joplin, died at 4:12 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Quaker Hill Manor, Lowell, Kan.

Norma was born Sept. 11, 1931 in Denver, Colorado, to Wayne and Olive (Enoch) Driskel. She was a homemaker.

She married Bernard "Jim" Cogbill on Sept. 12, 1949 in Huntsville, Arkansas. He died Sept. 17, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Clifford Joe Cogbill, who died April 20, 1975.

She is survived by son, James (Cyndi) Cogbill, of Joplin; two daughters: Linda Cogbill, of Mount Vernon, MO, and LaVella (Tom) Wheeler, of Joplin; a brother, Clifford (Barbara) Driskel, of Hawthorne, NV; sister, Billie Chandler, of Yerington, NV; grandson, Jason Cogbill; two stepgrandchildren: Chris (Michelle) Evans and Micah Evans; and two stepgreat-grandchildren: Lexie Evans and Kayci Evans.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary. Pastor Clifford Mansley Jr. will officiate.

Burial will be in the Osborne Memorial Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary.
