Adele Lee Wilkins was the daughter of John D. Wilkins and Nelrose Lemons Wilkins (Duffer). She was the third of three daughters and was born on November 15, 1935. She married James Kenneth Azmon (Sr.) in 1954 and had three children: Vicky Leigh Azmon (Hallenbeck), Donna Arleen Azmon (Bodenheimer), and James Kenneth Azmon, Jr. She enjoyed her natural grandchildren (Bart Spainhour, Jessie Spainhour, Amber Bodenheimer, Audrey Bodenheimer, Ashley Azmon) and her step-grandchildren as well.

Adele was reared in the Moravian church, but later joined the Church of Christ where she was baptized and served in many capacities over the years. She was a faithful member of Pinedale Christian Church for many years until her death in 2003.

She enjoyed photography and many of her black and white shots are a legacy to the family. She also photographed several interesting slide shows including one for Pinedale Christian Church and another for Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Adele was a bookworm, reading and sharing books all of her life. She introduced her children to the joy of reading and was a faithful patron of the public library system. She often wrote to her favorite authors and occasionally received responses. She was especially pleased with her penpal relationship with Janice Holt Giles, author of many historical novels.

Adele had many other interests including music, Girl Scouts, crafts (especially pumpkin painting), drama, and enjoying good food.

She was a loyal friend to a number of interesting and different people. Neither race, age, culture, socio-economic status, nor education dissuaded her from pursuing friendships everywhere she went.
