Hoopeston-Marie Lewis,94,of Hoopeston,died at 5:30 a.m. Monday (December 21,1992) at Hoopeston Community Nursing Home.Born Oct.9,1898 in Rossville,the daughter of William and Linnie Glaze McCluskey.She married Wilbur L Lewis in 1918 in Rossville.He died in 1947.Surviving:two daughters,Gladys Turner of Rossville and Catherine Cornell of Centerville,Ind;a sister Agnes Wood of Hoopeston;11 grandchildren,27 great-grandchildren,and seven great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two sons,two daughters,and three sisters.
She was formerly employed at a craft store in Chicago.She was a member of the Rossville Church of Christ.She enjoyed quilting,crocheting dolls,and giving to her grandchildren.
Services:1 p.m. Wednesday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Rossville;officiating:Rev Jim Lloyd;Burial:Rossville Cemetery;Visitation:one hour prior to services at the funeral home;Memorials:donor's choice.
