Along with his parents, sister, wife, and two children, Lars immigrated to America aboard the SS City of London, arriving in New York Harbor on 3 Aug 1868.
He and his family settled in the Smoky Hill area of Kansas soon after arriving in the U.S. and stayed in the are throughout most of his life. They did move to Texas (Victoria County & Williamson County) because of the ill health of his eldest child, Johan Lars Larson (Americanized to John Louis Larson).
His wife, Margta (Americanized to Martha and Marta), died 09 OCT 1900, but it is unclear if she died in Texas, or in Kansas.
