He was the son of Frank and Lena (Mirlisenna) Maisano. He grew up in Krebs and had lived there all his life. He married Lucille Rhine on Jan. 12, 1935, in McAlester, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 2008. He worked for the city of McAlester for many years in the parks and recreation department in grounds maintenance. This work suited him well as he was known in Krebs as one of the finest gardeners in the area. He had also served in the United States Marine Corp for a short time during World War II. Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn West, of Krebs; grandchildren, Libby Cossey, of Krebs, Jim and Alicia Maisano, of Norman, and Belinda and Lonnie Sneed, of Midwest City. Also, great-grandchildren, Kendall Barker, Denton Cossey, Melissa Maisano, Sara Maisano, Trenton Maisano, Mary Maisano, Travis Sharp, Justin Sneed, and Ryan Sneed; great-great-grandchildren, Misha Maisano, Dakota Maisano, and Victoria, Billy and Christian Sharp; a special adopted great-grandson, Casey Jones. And, two brothers, Dee Maisano and his wife, Ellen, of Krebs, and Johnny Maisano and his wife, Vera, Albuquerque, N.M.; three sisters, Mary Cobb, of McAlester, Thresa Watson, of McAlester, and Angie Carano, of Krebs. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a son, Johnny R. Maisano Sr.; a grandson, Johnny R. Maisano Jr.; a granddaughter, Amber West; a sister, Rosie Boyce, and four brothers, Tony, Paul, Joe and Mike Maisano. He was a resident of Krebs, and passed away at the age of 93. Services will be July 11, at Brumley-Mills Chapel.
