Surviving is her son Bud (wife Bonnie) Summers of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Sonya Summers of Springfield and Randy Summers of Winchester; and two great-grandchildren, Drew Summers of Winchester and Haley Summers of Beardstown. Also preceding her were four sisters, Amelia Baird, Frieda Balke, Wilma Westermeyer and Erna Lawless; and two brothers, Carl Balke and Merle Balke (surviving wife, Charlotte of Winchester).
She was a 1932 graduate of Winchester High School. A graduate of Browns Business College. She was employed at the Winchester High School as secretary for 47 years. She was a very active member of the Winchester United Methodist Church, where she was the financial secretary for many years. She was involved with the Sunday school programs and helped with the 4-H clubs and the South Scott Saddle Club.
Services were entrusted to Coonrod Funeral Home of Winchester, Illinois.
