Times News Wednesday October 8, 1969

Louis W. Benkula, 85, 325 eighth Ave. E., died Tuesday morning in a nursing home of a short illness. He was born January 7, 1884 in Junction City, Kan. He married Stella Merchum in Alma, Kan. October 8, 1907, and came to Twin Falls from Kansas 18 years ago.
Mr. Benkula was a member of the Lutheran Church and is survived by his widow; a son D.W. Benkula, Twin Falls; Three daughters, Mrs. J.G. (Ladell) McBride, Santa Fe. N.M.; Mrs. George (Dorothy) Watson, Paul, and Mrs. Weldon (Delia) Terrell,, Green Forest, Ark.; Two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Alvina) Moss, and Mrs. Freda Kruger, both Junction City, Kan.; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Benkula will be conducted Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Twin Falls Mortuary chapel. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at Twin Falls Mortuary Thursday evening and until 9:30 a.m. Friday
