Jacob Lyons, 79, Hillview Nursing Home, formerly of 418 Peachtree St., Johnson City, died Monday morning in the Carter County Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. Mr. Lyons was a native of Carter County and the son of the late George and Catherine Wilson Lyons. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include two daudhters, Mrs. Beulah Rarliff, Wolf Laurel, N.C., and Mrs. Gladys Altum, Toledo, Ohio; two sons, Jim Lyons, Lambertville, Mich., and Earnest Lyons, Cleveland, Ohio; and one sister, mrs. Pearl Cornett, Hampton. Ten grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren also survive.
