Emma Lee Featherstone was born July 22, 1872, being afflicted with asthma from infancy. She was always patient and cheerful and very thoughtful of those around her. Since the death of her mother about three years ago she has been very lonely. Emma died a triumphant death with loved ones and friends around her; she spoke of dying as going home to mother and told her dear sisters not to weep but sing of the home over there. She kissed each one goodbye and left messages for her loved ones not present and asked if they had a message to send to mother in Heaven. When she could talk no longer she folder her arms as a tired child that was weary and longed for rest. She was buried the following day at New Home by the side of father and mother, Rev. Griffin conducting the funeral services.
