America Emmaline Mills was of Cherokee Heritage and apparently a very dear person who loved her family greatly. She lived a very hard life as many did in those days, but somehow always managed to take good care of her children and family. She was the daughter of William Mills and Wilmirth Morton of Brownwood Texas. She was wife of Nathaniel Barney Johnson. America's Mills family owned a grocery store in Ringling, Oklahoma for many years. Letters and cards from America show her dedication & love for her children.
