Mrs. Wanda Hambrick entered the room prepared for her by our Lord and Savior on July 4, 2008. Born in Blooming Grove to Robert and Opal Barham on July 31, 1937, she was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Wanda was also a faithful and active member of Northside Baptist Church in Corsicana. She found great pleasure in volunteering her time to others in the community. A member of the choir, she also volunteered as a part time office worker for her church. She enjoyed serving others through the local Meals on Wheels, the Pink Ladies Auxiliary, and the Corsicana Food Pantry. She was always involved in her three son's youth activities, serving with the PTA and even a den mother for the Boy Scouts. At the age of 53, Wanda enrolled again at Navarro College to complete her Associates' degree. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Honea officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Lester R. Hambrick, who lovingly stood by her side during her lengthy illness. Also, her sons and daughter-in-laws, Mark and Karen Hambrick of Barry, Michael and Anna Hambrick of Corsicana, and Yolanda Hambrick of Ennis; grandchildren, Melissa Dickerson of Corsicana, April Mclean of Brownsboro, Christy Jones of Richland, Hannah Hambrick of Corsicana, Nicole Hambrick of Barry, Kevin and John Hambrick of Ennis, Donnie Nuzum of Indian Trail, N.C., Kelly Nuzum of Oak Leaf, 10 great-grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews.
