Asal Bolster born 3 October 1867 Terre Haute, Indiana, died 7 December 1951 South of Seiling, Dewey County, Oklahoma. He married Ida May Carr in 1893 in the Cherokee Nation, later Oklahoma. Ida May was the daughter of Mills and Elizabeth (Hodson) Carr. Asal played the violin and was blind many years but continued to operate a country store and farm south of Seiling. Ida May Carr was born 11 November 1871, Rockport, Missouri. She died 8 September 1946, Seiling, Dewey County, Oklahoma. She and Asal were buried in the Chester Cemetery northeast of present day Chester, Oklahoma. In 1904 the family moved from Wagoner to Major County, Oklahoma Territory. They lived in the wagon until they could get a dugout made. While living in the dugout son Robert was born. About 1908 they built a frame house and here two more children were born. Asal received his homestead, original entry, of 54.29 acres on 3 March 1910. It was NWNE section 2, township 20-N, range 16-W of Indian Meridian in Major County, Oklahoma.[1] Asal and Ida May moved to a farm 4½ miles South of Seiling, Dewey County, Oklahoma in 1920. They were members of the Nazarene church.
Asal 's father was Peter Bolster, first husband to Harriet Ellen Bentley. Peter was born in Mohawk Valley Albany co. NY in 1832 and family moved to Constantia, Oswego county NY in 1840s and Peter married Harriet there in 1853. They had 2 sons who died as infants and then Peter contracted consumption (TB) and they moved west for his health.
They had 5 more children Asal being the youngest before Peter died in October 1868 and Harriet remarried to Francis Moore Lytle in 1873.
Asal 's father was Peter Bolster, first husband to Harriet Ellen Bentley. Peter was born in Mohawk Valley Albany co. NY in 1832 and family moved to Constantia, Oswego county NY in 1840s and Peter married Harriet there in 1853. They had 2 sons who died as infants and then Peter contracted consumption (TB) and they moved west for his health.
They had 5 more children Asal being the youngest before Peter died in October 1868 and Harriet remarried to Francis Moore Lytle in 1873.
