Edward L. Mulhollan, 86, Tyrone RD 3, died Wednesday evening at Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.

Ed's parents, Ernest M. and Verna (Lewis) Mulhollan, he was born in Moshannon, Clearfield County,

On Aug. 26, 1944, in Marion, S.C., he was married to Ferroll A. Fassinger, who survives.

Also surviving are three children: Anita (Jeff) Wray of Bald Eagle, Dennis P. Mulhollan of McVeytown and Alice M. Mulhollan of Bald Eagle; four grandchildren: Josh, Jason and Jenna Wray and Timothy Lukas; two great-grandchildren: Savannah and Collin; a special nephew, David Mulhollan of Etters, Pa., and several other nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by a brother, David; and dear friends: Merle and Libby Schmidt.

He had been employed for 37 years as a machine operator at Chicago Rivet and Machine Co., retiring in 1983. He was a member of Bald Eagle United Methodist Church, where he had been very active, serving as a lay speaker, a Sunday school teacher and a youth leader. He had served on the administrative council, had served on and been chairman of the trustees and for many years had been head usher.

He had been a Boy Scout leader for many years, had been a member of the Gardner Guards and was a member of Howard Gardner Post 281 of American Legion.

Ed was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and was very pleased that he had the opportunity to visit County Clare, the home of his ancestors.

A funeral service for Edward L. Mulhollan will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, at Bald Eagle United Methodist Church with Pastor Peggy Bonsell officiating. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. time of service Monday at the church.
