Final Summons Comes to One of Madison's Leading Citizens, Following An Illness of Several Weeks

After an illness of several weeks, Mr. Gaylord F. Crozier passed away at his home on W. Main St at 2:20 o'clock this morning. The decedent was born in Madison, Indiana, a son of the late John Andrew and Harriet Crozier, and spent all of his life in the city, where he received his education and entered into the business world.

Mr. Crozier was widely known and was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a man of sterling character, high ambitions and ideals. He served for eight years as auditor of Jefferson county and filled many positions in the Court House, perhaps being longer at this place than any other man in office. He was a graduate of Hanover College and was a very efficient and capable office man.

Mr. Crozier was a member of the Juniata Tribe of Red Men and also of Monroe Lodge, I.O.O.F. His death has indeed cast a shadow of deepest gloom over the entire community where he has passed his days and where he leaves so many friends who regret to learn that he has been stricken in his prime.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Carrie Calloway Crozier, he is survived by three brothers: Fred and Charles Crozier, of Madison, and John Crozier of St. Louis, Missouri.
