Mrs. Gustie Ann Fowler, 84, of Rt. 3, Crockett, died at her home Wednesday, Nov. 13, following a heart attack. A native of Houston County, Mrs. Fowler was born on Oct. 29, 1879. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were held from the Callaway Memorial Chapel at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, with the Reverends Jesse Roberson of Grapeland and W. L. Gallant of Crockett officiating. Interment was in the McCarter Cemetery, and pallbearers were Jack Cross, Mack Hearn, Lee Hearn, Roland Hearn, Kenneth Graham, and G. W. Gooden. Mrs. Fowler is survived by four sons, James and John of Crockett, William and G. Earl of Houston; five daughers, Mrs. Mirdie Hearn of Conroe, Mrs. Winnie Randall and Mrs. Lena Smith of Houston, Mrs. Nannie Bell Raynor of Baytown, and Mrs. Nodell Jermain of Pasadena; two sisters, Mrs. Velma Whitaker of Pasadena, Mrs. Mattie McCorkie of Shreveport, La.; a brother, Grady Grounds of Porter Springs; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Callaway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
