Ida Ellis the daughter of John Hugh (b. 1851, d. 1926) and Alice (Hamilton) Ellis (b. 1852, d. 1929).
She was married in 1909 to a Hugh Devlin (b. 1882, d. 1926). Ida and her husband were murdered by a man who was obsessed with Ida. On the evening of March 10, 1926 at their home, both Hugh and Ida were shot numerous times with a .38 caliber revolver. Hugh died on that evening of the 10th, but Ida survived until March 14, 1926. She told the law enforcement what had happened and also the suspect's name, she named George Bigham as the assailant before she died.
