WHITLEY, 60, 1403 Tenth Ave., Phenix City, died at Cobb Memorial Hospital at 5:30 p.m., yesterday after an illness of five months. // Mrs. WHITLEY was born in Lafayette [Chambers County], Ala., May 27, 1897, the daughter of the late John and Mary FLOURNOY EDWARDS. She had lived in Phenix City for seven years and was a member of the Central Baptist Church. // Survivors include her husband, E. L. WHITLEY; a son, John F. WHITLEY, Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. H. J. PATE, Columbus, and Mrs. J. H. AMERSON, Alaska; a brother, John E. WHITLEY, LaGrange; a sister, Mrs. Sally CLARK, LaGrange; ten grandchildren, including Alton J. MILAM and Edgar MILAM, both of Columbus; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. // Funeral arrangements will be announced by Britton and Dobbs, Columbus."
