DUMAS - Billy Don Brown, 64, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Northlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gary Gumfory, pastor of First Christian Church in Gruver, officiating. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. in First Christian Church in Dumas with the Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Billy Don was born Feb. 19, 1944, in Dumas to L.S. and Wanda Brown. He graduated from Dumas High School with the class of 1962. While in school, he was an active member of the Dumas FFA. On Feb. 8, 1963, he married DiAnn McClellan in Dumas.

He was engaged in farming until going to work for Dumas Co-Op, where he was a truck driver for 30 years. He was a steer roper and an avid golfer. Billy Don was a lifetime resident of Dumas and a member of First Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, DiAnn; two sons, Russell Brown and wife Annetta of Milliken, Colo., and Brooks Brown and wife Kim of Dumas; a brother, Cecil Brown and wife Judy of Decatur; four grandchildren, Justin Brown, Shayne and Dillon Johnson, and Bali DiAnn Brown; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Buster Brown.

Memorials may be made to Restore the Splendor, First Christian Church, P.O. Box 971, Dumas, TX 79029; or Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second St., Dumas, TX 79029.

The family will be at 123 Amherst Ave., in Dumas.
