Willie Andrew Shipman, son of the late Ernest Shipman and Bessie Allstun Shipman was born on September 17, 1919 in Essex, Missouri and departed this life on May 6, 2009 at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 89 years.

Mr. Shipman was a former self-employed contractor performing various types of construction. He was a member of the Bloomfield Church of Christ, and a resident of Dexter.

Willie would have celebrated 69 years in marriage on May 11, 2009 to his loving wife Clorine Williams Shipman. Mrs. Shipman survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, other survivors include two grandsons, Rick Shipman and wife Barbara of Dexter and Bobby Shipman and wife Rhonda of Dexter; by four great-grandchildren Brent Shipman, Cody Shipman, Bud Shipman, and Grace Shipman; by one brother, Charles Shipman and wife Edith of Bloomfield, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Lee Shipman, one granddaughter, Darla Kay Shipman; two brothers, Lester and Dale Shipman; and by one sister, Christine Crowe.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday May 7, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday May 8, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Brother Dale Grissom officiating. Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.
