William Aubrey Sawyer was the son of Dionysious Herbert Sawyer and Leta Nicholas Sawyer. On Feb. 12, 1932 He marrie Emma Gladys Green.
Moved to Mobile about 1926 to attend Mobile Business College. He met Gladys Green @ Mobile Business College in 1927. Aubrey was an avid fiserman, and he and Gladys enjoyed dancing and playing bridge. They were active in the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.

All 3 of their children attended Murphy High School in Mobile.
