Mr. Boyd was central office foreman for Southern Bell Telephone Company, where he had been employed for the past 24 years.
Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park. Last rites were conducted in the Osborn Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Stanley Jordan of Shreveport officiating.
Mr. Boyd was born in Winn Parish, near Rochelle, November 6, 1904. He was a member of the Jonesboro Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, five brothers, J. T. Boyd of Longview, Texas, H. D. Boyd, of Marshall, Texas, Earl Boyd of Gladewater, Texas, Andrew Boyd of Jonesboro; three sisters, Mrs. W. L. Owens of Winnfield; Mrs. W. C. Truell, and Mrs. G. D. Redden, both of Monroe; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were H. N. Poleman, K. H. Cole, J. C. Moore, E. A. Thompson, E. A. Stewart, W. L. Harris, L. J. Hatcher, and R. W. Earp.
