OBITUARY

Mrs. L.W. Humphrey was born on August 20th, 1834, in Cass county, Indiana, and died at the family home on March 25th at 2:12 p.m. after a prolonged illness of three months, aged 83 years, 7 months and 5 days. She lived in Indiana until 1868 when she moved with her parents to Missouri. Dec. 14, 1869 she was married to L.W. Humphrey. To this union was born 6 sons, one of which died in infancy, the others being present on the day of the funeral, with the exception of the oldest son John.
She leaves her faithful companion, 5 sons, 11 grand-children, 3 great-grandchildren, also one sister; eight grandchildren had gone before her to the other side.
Grandma Humphrey was converted as a young mother and joined the South Union Baptist church in Missouri and has been a consistent member of the church, a faithful wife, mother, grand-mother and loving friend. Many friends have ___ before, but a great number are now joining in grief with the bereaved family.
The family have lived in Oklahoma since 1895, 1 ½ miles north of Kremlin.
Here she became one of the charter members of the Baptist church. The first pastor of the church, Bro. A.B. Kirk, now of Conway Springs, Kansas, and a close friend of the family, came to preach the funeral, which was held at the Baptist church here last Tuesday at 10a.m. to a full house, and after which the body was laid to rest in the Kremlin cemetery.
Rev. Kirk urged the relatives and friends all to "get ready" to go to the great place prepared for those who love the Master. We know that "all her tears are wiped away," for there will be no tears in Paradise.

The 1850 Census leaves her parentage in doubt & her obituary does not state who they were. George Graham, 55, b. NY, is listed as with (presumably wife Jane, 47, b. NJ). Underneath are presumably children one of whom is Mary J ROBINS, 27, born OH, and presumably his granddaughter Emeline Robins, 4, born in IN.
