He was born March 2, 1947, in Albemarle County, Virginia, the son of Jim Tomlin and Lou Fisher Tomlin.
He worked for many years with Freed Company and Friendly Tire. When he wasn't working, Mr. Tomlin loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Tomlin; sister, Helen Mays; and uncles, Gordon Beverly and Joe Fisher.
Left to cherish his memories are his brother, Harry C. Tomlin and his wife, Nancy, of Waynesboro; aunt, Mary Beverly of Charlottesville; two very special nieces, Diana Eutsler and her husband, Paul, of Stuarts Draft, Beckie Southern and her husband, Timmy, of Waynesboro; two nieces, Rose Snyder and her husband, Dick, of Troy, Virginia, Cindy Jarrett and her husband, Buck, of Charlottes-ville; three great-nieces, Mandy Via and Trisha Southern, both of Waynes-boro, and Miranda Jarrett of Charlottesville; three great-nephews, Kyle Southern of Waynesboro, Bradley and Jacob Pleasants of Troy; and great-great-nephew, Jaylin McCoy of Waynesboro.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Major Linda Sloan and Associate Sergeant Major Joy E.Tartter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Brown, Jim and Joan Carpenter, Tom and Eunice Fisher, Warren and Margaret Mawyer, Roger and Judy Mays, Jean and Johnny Johnson, Francis and Sharon Chambliss, Paige and Martha Beverly, Clarence Gump, Mark and Sonny Brown, Danny Frazier, Sonny Heatwole, Al Carpenter, Jimmy Brown, Doris and Jean Templeton, and Phyllis Davis.
