Mrs. Buswell died at Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville on Sunday, June 29, 2008. She was 97.
Born in Chelatchie Prairie, Wash., on Aug. 25, 1910, she was the daughter of Sylvester S. and Lillie (Roth) Huffman. After attending high school in her hometown, she married Robert Buswell on May 17, 1927, in Vancouver, Wash.
The couple made their home in Washington until 1936 when they moved to McMinnville, after which they relocated to Dayton in 1946. The couple moved to Rickreall in 1962.
She was a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed candy making, gardening and knitting, She was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Buswell is survived by a son, William Buswell of Lewiston, Idaho; three daughters, Delores Martin of Rickreall, Flora Standley of Salem and Linda Lawson of Deary, Idaho; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978; a son, Howard Buswell; and a daughter, Joy Black.
