Christopher Lemuel Eskridge was the son of John Eskridge and Sabrina Shrader. His paternal grandparents were Revolutionary War Lt. George R. Eskridge and second wife Elizabeth Robinson of Grayson County, Kentucky. His maternal grandparents were Christopher Shrader and Elizabeth Finley. Christopher was born September 25, 1822 in Grayson County. He married Catherine "Kitty" Ann Beauchamp, the daughter of Stephen Beauchanp and Mary Wyatt, about 1840.
