Colonel Richard Douglas died on
Thursday morning of last week at
home, five miles east of Crockett,
after a long illness with Bright's
disease, at age 77.
He came to Crockett long before
the War and was elected assessor
and collector of taxes.
After the War, he was re-elected
to the same office.
He was survived by four sons, and
one daughter, Mrs Rook.
