- IN MEMORY -
- HENRY ASHLEY -
This (below) was first entered as of provided information with NO DATES and with only stating an INFANT HENRY ASHLEY.
(Infant Ashley boy, that died at about 5 months of age, around 1905)
*******************************
-HENRY ASHLEY-
- Perhaps Died At About 12 Years Old? -
* I now strongly believe that the above information may be incorrect.
In this Ashley Cemetery are buried Larkin and Sarah Osborne Ashley. One of thier sons was John L. Ashley that married Jennie Johnson both born in Ashe County.
They were residing in the area, as being listed in an 1900 Census along with thier then 5 children. They had a son by the name of HENRY ASHLEY, born 1890, and died in 1902.
By the 1910 Census this family had moved to Washington State and of course Henry was not listed in their household.
So, the question is, where did he die? John, Jennie, and thier family were all buried out West, but so far, a gravesite for thier young son HENRY has not been found.
I strongly believe that thier son Henry did die there in N.C. before they moved West and he was buried there near his Grandmother, Sarah Osborne Ashley, that had died in March 1890.
