Marie worked in the accounting office at Anheuser Busch in her home town of St. Louis for 25 years before moving to Ogdensburg in 1949. She was an active volunteer at St. Joseph's home in Ogdensburg where she supported the sisters and also organized and directed a volunteer group of girls known as the Marguerites, who helped take care of the residents.

When Marie died, she was survived by three sisters, Sister Mary Loyola of Maryknoll Sisters, Monrovia, California; Sister Mary Loyola of the Sisters of Loretto, Denver, Colorado; and Mrs. Alfred (Margaret) Hogan of Ottawa, Ontario. One sister (Gertrude Kassel) and two brothers, John Joseph Vollet and Oliver William Joseph Vollet proceeded her in death.
