Helen Ruth St. Clair, 65, of Gordon passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008, in Mineral Wells.
Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Word of Faith Church in Santo, with the Rev. Johnny McAvoy officiating. Interment: New Gordon Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn.
Ruthie was born April 9, 1943, at Natty Flat, Palo Pinto County, to Doc and Helen Irene Alison St. Clair. She attended school in Gordon and lived there as well as in Strawn, Stephenville and Lipan. She worked as a cook for the Smoke Stack and later for B.J.’s in Mingus and for the Quick Stop. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter # 361 in Strawn and was past worthy matron of Gordon Eastern Star. Ruthie was a member of Word of Faith Church and had attended First Baptist Church in Gordon.
Ruthie was preceded in death by a son, Terry Don Johnson; a brother, Jimmy Jo St. Clair; and a grandson, Koby Johnson.
Survivors: Her son, Bub Johnson and wife, Teresa, of Gordon; brother, Pete St. Clair of Mineral Wells; sisters, Annie Pearl Cline of Granbury, Charlene Lovall of Mingus, Jackie Moody of Strawn and Cheryl Jane St. Clair of Strawn; grandsons, Perry Wayne and Brandon Johnson; granddaughter, Tristen Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
