Ephraim Briggs born in Cranston, Providence Co., RI, May 13, 1753. He served as a Revolutionary Soldier enlisting 5 different times for various periods of service.
October 20th, 1778, he married Nancy Burlingame of Providence Co., RI. To this union 9 children were born; Elba, Cavid, Esek, Hulda, Ira, Allen, Esther, Cynthia, and Dutte. All of whom settled in Sardinia in the year 1818 with the exception of Dutte who settled in Chenango Co., N.Y.
