Mrs. Janice Cowen, 26, 5541 S. Harmin Street in Marion and a recent resident of the Anderson area, died at 3:30 pm Monday at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after an illiness of eight days.
She was formerly employed at RCA in Marion and Community Hospital here.
Surviving are her husband, Ernest Cowen and a daughter, Teressa; her mother, Mrs. Harry Rutledge of Route 1, Yorktown; her father, William Tharp of Tennessee; her grandfather John W. Blagg of Anderson; two brothers, Dallell Abston of Anderson and Charles Abston of Yorktown; an aunt, Mrs. John Toles of Anderson; two uncle, Charles Blagg of Anderson and Stewart Blagg of California; a niece Carmon Abston of Anderson and serveral cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday at the Baker Brothers Funeral Home with the Reverend Everett Smith, of the Landmark Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Anderson Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call at the mortuary after 2:30 pm today.
