Born March 8, 1922, in Elmwood, a son of Ora Matlin and Dora Rowena Wasson Colvin, he married Jacqueline C. Ervin on May 21, 1948, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Janice (Edward) Baade of Lincoln, Neb.; three sons, Barry (Carol) Colvin of Rochester, Ill., Ronald (Christine) Colvin of Peoria and Bart (Isabelle) Colvin of Belvidere; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all his brothers and sisters.
Mr. Colvin was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He worked as a manager for Taft Homes in Peoria.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Washington, where he was a member. Pastor John Rothfusz will officiate. A visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at church. Cremation rites will be accorded.
The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
Burial of ashes will be at a later date in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
