During WWII, T/Sgt Dugan was a member of Company G, 310th Infantry, 78th Division and served in the European Theater.

George E Dugan Jr, of Sedalia, died May 19, 2002, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. He was born Oct 12, 1922, in Sedalia, a son of George and Isabell Bradley Dugan. On Mar 23, 1946, in Sedalia, he was married to Betty Lou Stanfield.Mr Dugan was a 1940 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

He was the fourth generation owner of Dugan Paint and Glass in Sedalia. He was a member of Sedalia Masonic Lodge No. 236 and president of the Sedalia Country Club for two terms. He served on the Sedalia City Council for seven years. He loved to fly, play golf, travel and spend time with his family. He was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church.

Also surviving are a son, George "Mick" Dugan IV of Sedalia; a daughter, Dianne Brown of Houston; a brother, Bill W Dugan of Sedalia; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.Pallbearers were Dr Roger Hopkins, Lou Tempel, Burl Sammons, Don Broaddus, Fred Evans, Charles Huddleston and George Wimmer. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2591.
