While riding a motorcycle across the Erie railroad tracks a Tifft St. this afternoon, William Hottois, 30 years old, an electrician employed by the Federal Telephone Co., was struck by a fast passenger train and instantly killed.

Medical Examiner Earl G. Danser said the man's skull was fractured and nearly every bone in his body was broken. The body was sent to the morgue.

Hottois was operating his motorcycle at a fast rate of speed, it is reported, and did not see or hear the approaching passenger train. When he was struck, his body was thrown 50 feet in the air and landed in a ditch. The motorcycle was wrecked.

Hottois leaves a wife and two children. He lived at 686 Washington St.
