Services for Former Iowa District Junge Held on Labor Day
MT. PHEASANT, la., Sept. 8— Funeral services were held here yesterday 'for Washington I. Babb, former district judge, state representative and democratic leader, who died at his home in Aurora,Ill.. The services were held at the home of Congressman W. F. Kopp, Mr. Babb's nephew.
Mr. Babb had made his home in Illinois for ten years.
He served one term on the twentieth district bench, was a Henry county member of the Iowa house, and candidate for governor on the democratic ticket in 1896. He was the first grand commander of the Knights Templar of Iowa, a memberof the G. A. R., and was for fifty-two years a trustee of Iowa Wesleyan college.
