GALENA, KANSAS - Ressie Henrietta Leas, age 94, died at 11:14 pm, Monday, March 26, 2007 at St Johns Regional Medical Center, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Mrs. Leas was born December 18, 1912 in Cherokee County, KS. Her parents were William H. and Elizabeth (Henkle) Angel. She had lived in Cherokee County KS most of her life.
She was a member of the Galena Assembly of God. Among her interests were sewing and gardening.
She was married to Robert Dale Leas on January 5, 1934. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Loan Morris, and Betty Goff, both of Galena, KS; one brother, William A. "Bill" Angel, Columbus, KS; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Roberta Lorene Boyer, one brother, Charles Angel, and two sisters, Pearl Lee and Gertie Richey.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 30, 2007 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 29, 2007 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
