Warren A. Anthers, 78, of East Legal Tender Road died at 9:09 p.m. Monday, June 14, 1999, at Columbus Regional Hospital emergency room.
He was a member of Burnsville Christian Church and a 50-year member of Alert Masonic Lodge. He was a retired farmer and owner, trainer and driver of standard-bred race horses. He was former director of Vocational Rehabilitation at Glenwood, Iowa, and Muscatatuck State Hospital. He also was former owner of Anthers Ready to Wear stores.
Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. George Plantz officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. today. A Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. today. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mr. Anthers was born in Grammer May 15, 1921, the son of Henry Lee and Golda Daily Anthers. He married C. Ann Russell Sept. 19, 1945, in North Vernon. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Stephen D. Anthers of Columbus; and granddaughters, Laura R. Chasse and Jennifer L. Anthers, both of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Ann Anthers; and a brother, Robert Lee Anthers.
