Dallas Cleveland Shelton Sr., 84, of Roanoke, died Thursday, June 26, 2008. A man devoted to his family, he served in the United States Navy during World War II and owned and operated Grandin Texaco in Roanoke for 40 years. He was the son of Oscar and Belle Shelton and brother to Goldie Pendleton. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Agnes B. Shelton; sons, Andrew, Dallas Jr. and Timothy; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth and Karen; grandchildren, Phillip, Melinda, Joel and Derek; great-grandson, Lucas; and granddaughter-in-law, Mary, wife of Phillip. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. The Rev. Msgr. Thomas Miller will officiate. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Roanoke Rescue Mission, 402 4th St., S.E., Roanoke, Va. 24013. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
