Chickering W. "Chic" Burdick, 74, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 18, at Veterans Hospital, Iowa City, of natural causes, He was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Lytton, son of George E and Lucretia Cooper Burdick. He married Erma D. Grover on May 11, 1940, in Fort Dodge. Mr. Burdick was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad and by Titus Manufacturing, from which he retired for medical reasons. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doug L of Cedar Falls and Martin G. of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren; a brother, Chauncey "Butch" of Waterloo, and a sister Glee Cole of Waterloo; he was preceded in death by four sister. There will be no visitation or services, the body was cremated. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel-downtown, is in charge of arrangements.
