Inez Sharp was born in Council Grove, KS, and moved with her family to the Valley community, OK, as a girl. She met Ben Cather and they were married in Stillwater, OK, in February 1902. Ben and Inez bought a farm in Maramec, OK, where they reared their five sons. They sold the farm in 1956 and moved around, finally settling in the Drumright Nursing Center in 1970. Ben died Dec. 20, 1973, just a few months before their 72nd wedding anniversary. Inez continued to live at the nursing home another 16 years, even after a tornado destroyed the building. Inez buried two sons before passing away April 14, 1989, four months shy of her 105th birthday.
