J. M. Speltz of this village, died of heart failure at his home at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Although Mr. Speltz had not been in perfect health the past several weeks he was seen about at his work every day. After returning from a shopping trip to a nearby store he telephoned his brother stating that he was not well and asking his brother to visit him after which he sank into a rocker and quietly passed away.
Mr. Speltz was one of our most highly respected and beloved citizens, a retired farmer, a kind husband and father, and a congenial, cheerful neighbor, who is a great loss to this community as well as to his family.
He leaves an invalid wife and five children; Mrs. Charles Feltes of St. Charles, Frank Speltz and Miss Clara Speltz of Rollingstone, Leo Speltz of Brick, Saskatchewan, and Gerald Speltz of Rollingstone, besides, six sisters and brothers to mourn his loss: Mrs. Matt Botzet of Winona, J. P. Speltz, Mrs. Susan Weis, P.M. Speltz, and Felix Speltz of Rollingstone, and Lee Speltz of Winona.
Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Church at 10 a.m. today.
